The persons who paid floral tributes, among others, include the Director of NI-T, Dr. Raja Singh from DRDL, Registrar, Dean and HoDs from NIT-T

Thousands of Staff and students of NIT-T paid rich floral tributes to the former president of India, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam at a program organized in BARN on 30.07.2015 as a mark of respect to the departed soul.

This was in continuation of an earlier meeting organized on 28.7.2015, where in Dr. S. Sundarrajan, Director NIT-T,recalled his association with Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam during his tenure at DRDO.  He mentioned that Dr Kalam
Was very simple and was good in creating unity amidst diversity.After Dr. Kalam  took over the reins of DRDO, he  went on to test fire AGNI and PRITHVI. Both were fully indegeniously made. He added that Dr. Kalam  used to spend almost 15 hrs in office.  His belongings were very very meager. He had the habit of giving away whatever he gets.He once sent off all his guards, when he was the chief of DRDO and had his eye operated in a small hospital in Madurai.He had the audacity to tell Bill Gates in Rastrapathi Bhavan that he was for open source and not Microsoft. He also added that he was a great team leader and emphasized  the importance of team work.
